AFIDOP traveling with ITA Airways
Until December 23, the ITA Airways lounges in Milan and Rome hosted a tasting experience dedicated to the finest Italian PDO and PGI cheeses. The events were part of the initiative “Journey into Excellence – A Taste of Italy”, promoted by ITA Airways in collaboration with Origin Italia, Fondazione Qualivita, and the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry, supporting the candidacy of Italian Cuisine as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO, with the support of AFIDOP – Italian PDO and PGI Cheese Association.
The initiative offered passengers the opportunity to discover and taste some of the iconic productions of Made in Italy, thanks to the involvement of the Protection Consortia and the support of Valentina Bergamin. The airport lounges were thus transformed into privileged spaces for storytelling and promotion of Italy’s agri-food heritage, reaching an international audience in the ITA Airways lounges.
During the initiative, cheeses from the Protection Consortia of: Asiago PDO, Burrata di Andria PGI, Gorgonzola PDO, Grana Padano PDO, Mozzarella di Bufala Campana PDO, Parmigiano Reggiano PDO, Pecorino Romano PDO, Provolone Valpadana PDO, Quartirolo Lombardo PDO, Salva Cremasco PDO, and Taleggio PDO were featured.
A project that confirms the role of PDO and PDI cheeses as ambassadors of Italian culture, territories, and craftsmanship around the world.
